The River's Bend

from $35.00

This photograph is the result of a happy accident. My original plan for the morning was to head to Cades Cove and look for bears, but I arrived to find the road temporarily closed by a tree that had blown down overnight. Forced to change plans, I headed to the Tremont area instead. I'm so glad I did. I found this perfect, quiet bend in the river, with the new spring leaves forming a stunning, vibrant green canopy. It was a beautiful reminder that sometimes the best scenes are the ones you didn't plan to find.

A gentle 'river's bend' draws the eye through a lush spring landscape in Tremont. A long exposure smooths the rushing water into silky, white ribbons as it tumbles over and around the rocky riverbed. The scene is framed by a canopy of vibrant, new-growth green leaves and moss-covered boulders, creating a perfect portrait of the Great Smoky Mountains' hidden, tranquil beauty.

A signature piece from the "Mountain Moods" gallery, this photograph celebrates the serene, flowing energy of the Appalachian streams.

Print & Medium:

The life of this photograph is in its vibrant spring color and the 'wet' look of the river. To make the scene come alive, my choice for this print is the Hahnemühle FineArt Baryta Satin. This museum-grade paper has an elegant, soft satin finish that is ideal for landscapes like this. It will render the vibrant, new-growth greens with deep, rich saturation and give the silky, flowing water a beautiful, luminous quality. It perfectly captures the damp, tactile feel of a mountain stream in spring.

"The River's Bend" is available in sizes up to 24x30 inches. Please contact me directly for custom sizes, framing, or other medium requests.
