I was riding in the front of the snowcat, serving as the group's spotter, when I saw him. It was early in the trip, and spotting this beautiful fox so soon raised hopes for a bountiful day ahead. He was moving quickly, following the path of a steaming geothermal stream. Though he was quite a ways distant, we were able to stay with him for about five minutes, and the impact of the sighting was felt by the entire group.
